Kennel Assistant

Duties:

  • Feeding and caring for animals in the hospital
  • Cleaning kennels and runs
  • Bathing and shaving pets
  • General hospital maintenance and cleaning
  • Laundry
  • Stocking and counting inventory
  • Assisting with patient restraint
  • Assisting clients to the car with their pets and purchases
  • Assisting technicians with X-rays, laboratory tests and surgery clean up
  • Recycling
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must enjoy helping animals and people
  • High school diploma, GED or enrolled in high school
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
  • Excellent social skills
  • Quick learner
  • Hard worker with initiative (self-motivator)
  • Flexible schedule – willing to work weekends
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn new things
Starting is minimum wage. Pay and raises based on experience and quality of work.

Hours will be scheduled during the following time frames: Monday-Friday 7:20 am -6:30 pm, Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 1 pm. Weekend kennel shifts Sat/Sun evening and Sunday morning. Alternating holiday kennels. Hours may extend later based on patient needs. Hours may also flex during the year.
